Your blessing is a curse!

I’m tired!

Tired of the old men who tell me they want me,

When it’s point blank that I’m old enough to be their daughter,

How does a father tell his daughter?

That no, I don’t just like you,

I like the idea of ‘an us’, you know

Me and you together!

Good riddance, kneel down and repent old man, the devil is using you.

While you blind yourself thinking you’re being a Blesser,

You don’t realize that you are cursing my body.

For how can it be a blessing that I allow my body

To be defiled in the hands of a selfish man?

A man blinded by lust to the innocence of my body,

Shaming me in the self-righteous comfort

Of the thought that his money makes it okay

To sleep with a girl the size of his own daughter!

I am overly disgusted,

By a messed up society that tells a girl that “men will always be men”

Is that supposed to make it okay for men to prey on her?

I fear because that thinking justifies the culture of old men

Sleeping with little girls while society continues to label her a slut!

Where is our moral grounding when we so easily sanction rape?

We seem past the age where we openly condemn sexual exploitation

As we now unashamedly say “what did she expect with a skirt that short?”

Would you be singing the same song if the victim was your daughter?
Nah! I don’t think so.

You see,

I also have a problem with girls who allow themselves to be used,

By men they know want nothing except their body.

They exhibit the characteristics of liars, cheaters, abusers and thieves,

Yet you still get surprised when they break you.

You lose your right to societal protection against these men

The moment you say “age doesn’t matter” to voices that try to stop you

From attracting a curse in the name of a Blesser.

How do you live with yourself,

Knowing how many marriages you are breaking,

How many sisters you are disrespecting when you sleep with their husbands?

Have you murdered your conscience so badly that

You feel nothing every time you abort that child?

Have you no self-respect that you subject yourself to

The greasy caress of a defiled man?

Selling your soul for material things that don’t equal what you’re losing.

Girl, you need to sit down and get yourself a life! 

Dear sister girl,

What you do with your life might seem like your problem,

But if it is going to group every girl to the narrative that girls are loose

It becomes a problem to everyone.

First, people will criticize your folks for not raising you well,

Then they’ll blame your friends for badly influencing you

And sometimes, they’ll accuse the economy for forcing you to the blessee zone

But I’ll tell you, that choice is the one thing that no one else can make for you.

You choose, to act like your blesser’s money fulfils you

When we all know it gives you nightmares, makes you feel dirty.

You see, you’re not fooling anyone but yourself.
